Marie-Luise arrived in the United States as a teenager from Germany, giving her a unique perspective on American life and culture. She satisfied her love of science by obtaining a Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences and doing immunology research. Marie-Luise was an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School before working in research and development in the pharmaceutical industry.
An avid gardener, Marie-Luise became active in the Connecticut Master Gardener Program and now writes on gardening, the environment and health issues.
